Take the next step and become a PADI diving professional! This intensive two-week internship explores all aspects of diving and working with certified divers. Divemaster candidates will learn how to conduct a dive briefing, to lead certified divers on a tour, as well as organize and set up for a dive, to assist instructors with all training all levels from Open Water to Rescue diver including demonstrating skills, as well as learning to evaluate conditions and to assist divers with problems.

In addition to their daily work on the water, candidates will learn more about the sport of diving, including in-depth reviews of the physics and physiology of diving, dive equipment, and decompression theory. Divemaster candidates are assigned a lead instructor who serves as a mentor and guides them through the internship process, but they will work with all the instructors and staff here at Low Key enabling them to experience a broad range of teaching styles and personalities. INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE

When you are ready, take it to the next level, become an instructor with an Instructor Development Course (IDC) at Low Key Watersports! This intensive week-long course prepares you to take the PADI Instructor Exam and goes over all aspects of teaching diving, from developing teaching presentations, to briefing skills, to recognizing student problems and reviewing the science and theory of diving.

As of March 2009, PADI also requires that instructor candidates complete an Emergency First Response Instructor certification as part of the IDC, certifying you to teach basic first aid, CPR and life-saving techniques. IDC’s are offered in conjunction with PADI Instructor Exams and taught by our resident Course Director, Chris Chaffin. Chris has certified over 1,000 divers in his twenty plus years of teaching and has never had a student fail the Instructor exam!
